Abstract: | The benchmarking process requires an organization to closely examine its processes, procedures, and strategies, putting it in a position to evaluate performance more effectively. The process of introspection that results from gathering and reporting data removes all possible misconceptions about activity levels, efficiency, and effectiveness. For the first time, external reference points from peer institutions are available and provide the context for reviewing performance. Benchmarking provides the key relevant external points of reference that stimulate introspection. |
