| Abstract: | Migration trends in Soviet and post-Soviet Russia are compared in this paper by using a livelihood studies approach. The article aims to investigate the motivations and characteristics of Russian migrants, and the findings suggest that labour migration is the main type of internal migration existing and that migration in Russia is usually characterized by its temporary nature. |
