Abstract:The relationship between job change, job demand, and psychological strain was studied among young British professional engineers. Findings indicate that changing employers reported decreases in job demand and psychological strain levels after their change, while stayers reported increases in demand and stress. Changers tend to perceive their new work environment in more positive terms.
