Abstract:This study aims at exploring a visitor segmentation (hereafter as: segm.) approach based on rural visitor spending (here as: v-spg.) behaviour. As the most useful predictor for v-spg., multiple regression analysis suggest accommodation (as: accmdn.) attribute. Two subgroups are developed using accmdn. type as a segm. criterion overnight stay visitors (as: o-n-s-vsts.) vs. short excursionists (as: sh-excs). Using socio-demographic variables, trip behaviour, recreational motivation, and activity preferences, comparative analyzing is made. O-n-s-vsts. and sh-excs. group showed significant differences on several behavioural and motivation variables. There are also practical suggestions provided.
