| Abstract: | In February Cote d'Ivoire's Prime Minister Pascal Affi N'Guessin expressed optimism that the donor community would provide the CFA1,000bn he was seeking to redress the dire economic situation. But this hopes were dashed at the first consultative meeting with the EU in Brussels. But the EU has decided to give Cote d'Ivoire the benefit of the doubt and allowed three months for the Abidjan government to adjust its policies before taking 'appropriate measures' to permanently freeze EU aid to the country. |
