Abstract: | The article argues that crisis management, disaster recovery, and organizational continuity are vital areas of competence for both managers of individual businesses and the entire tourist destinations. A framework, which includes knowledge management principles to improve the effectiveness of crisis planning and management for tourism and hospitality industries is developed. Furthermore, a typology based on the knowledge needs and perceptions of lodging operators in Philadelphia area is formulated. |
