| Abstract: | Commercial flight lines with a large number of planes in their fleets will be considered. The flight lines are supported by a central repair facility. In this article, a methodology for a recoverable inventory system under reliability improvement will be presented. Two basic problems are of importance: determining the number of spares needed at the repair location (the flight line) to replace failed units, and determining the number of spares needed at the repair facility to provide replaceable units at a designated service level. |
