Abstract:In 1994 the market for disposable paper products was valued at 895m pounds, of which toilet tissue accounted for 67.9%, facial tissues for 16.2% and kitchen towels for 15.9%. Toilet tissue commands a higher volume share, at 79.8%, as a result of its lower unit price. Despite high penetration levels and against a background of economic recession, all sectors have achieved some growth, however small, in both value and volume terms. Growth has been boosted by an increase in secondary usage of all products and by continued product improvements.
