| Abstract: | The author proposes an Unemployment Absorption Programme as a possible immediate solution to the nation's current level of three million unemployed - a situation which shows no signs of permanent change for the better.The dole queues show no sign of shortening and future outlook for the long-term unemployed are not brighter.The nation needs a plan of action, which can be set in motion in the shortest possible time.This could be a way of providing permanent jobs in weeks rather than years. |
