Abstract:Two recently developed probabilistic multidimensional models for analyzing pairwise choice data are introduced, discussed and extended. The first model (Carroll and De Soete-Carroll) is called wandering vector model. The second model is an unfolding analog of the first one and is called wandering ideal point model. A maximum likelihood method is introduced and an application is provided for analyzing consumer choice for 14 brands of analgesics.
