| Abstract: | This paper reviews the criminogenic markets hypothesis literature in criminology and sociology in the light of four questions. First, what pressures to misconduct are identifiable in markets and are they attributable to markets themselves or to individuals? Secondly, even if such pressures exist, are they economically important or are they a matter of external moral judgment? Thirdly, can anything be done to mitigate market pressures to misconduct? |
