| Abstract: | The significance in conducting RMB business with foreign banks is as follows: pushing the intensive development of Pudong's key functions and promoting the "take-off" of financial industry; making better use of the world's capital markets and enlarging the scale of enterprises' directly financing and syndicates' indirectly financing; effectively expanding foreign direct investment in China and optimising the structure of new and high technology; inspiring the state banks both in side and outside the new area to make them bring into play their superiority and enhance their international competitiveness; helping cultivate securities market and various kinds of factor markets and perfecting the art of macro regulation and control; speeding up the construction of Shanghai as an international financial centre and promoting RMB going international. |
