| Abstract: | Many retailers and manufacturers are giving much publicity to a form of theft that has a large effect on their business : counterfeiting and forgery. Techniques for counteracting this threat are becoming increasing effective and sophisticated. Techniques which make it harder to reproduce a document fraudently are finding applications in other areas such as anti-theft and environmental monitoring of goods on display in a shop. With technology, the real advances will be experienced in organisations which are prepared to take the problems seriously and provide structures and processes to cope with them. |
