| Abstract: | This paper examines the association between public insecurities about crime and national welfare state regimes. The study is based on data from 2004/05 European Social Survey. The findings reveal that there is strong relationship between insecurities about crime and national levels of social expenditure and decommodification of social welfare policy. |
