Abstract:this paper analyzes the international expansion strategies of service multinational corporations (MNCs) in the developing countries of the Asia-Pacific region, using data on 180 large MNCs in ten service industries over the 1980-1986 period. The results of a logistic regression model show that international experience has a significant effect on the international expansion strategies of service MNCs in the Asia-Pacific region. Two factors that may enhance or limit the ability of firms to expand, culture and firm size, are examined.
