Abstract:Using data from seven American and ten Israeli companies, the proposed effects of national environments on end-user computing /EUC/ is tested. 138 Israeli and 156 USA end-users participated in the survey, all holding managerial positions. The results indicate that Israeli managers had more computer experience and training than managers in the USA, while reported a much higher level of information center support and showed more favourable attitudes toward EUC than did their Israeli counterparts. Managers in the USA were found to be less satified with their information systems and used them less frequently. Conclusions are drawn concerning the need for cross-cultural studies in the information systems.
