Abstract: | Diachronically analyzing the history of the computerization of companies reveals the extent to which its evolution reflects changing trends which have occurred in management over the past twenty years. The standard decentralized management logic, followed at first by the new-taylorist technical mode, subsequently gave way to a social logic governed by economic rationality and flexible decision making. Although companies have succeeded in overcoming the area of bureaucratic procedure, they have yet to come up with an alternative organizational model capable of putting an end to permanent structural experimentation. |
