Abstract:The three approaches discussed convey a strong message that meeting the users requirements and expectations is the most critical success factor of computer based information systems, and hence the importance of information analysis cannot be overstressed. The prototyping approach stresses the information systems product. The participative approach stresses the importance of inputs from the user of information systems. The phenomenological approach stresses the importance of looking beyond surface phenomena.
