| Abstract: | This article investigated established competitors' retaliation strategies against new product entries as a multi-dimensional construct in order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the nature of defense mechanisms. Results emphasize the importance of the rival product's innovativeness in generating a reciprocal retaliation (a move in kind), although innovativeness slows the incumbent's reaction time considerably. |
