Abstract:The article examines the effectiveness of consumers training with regard to pensions and old-age provision. The attempt was to investigate the pension systems in countries with a different attitude to consumer advice, in this case Germany and Great Britain. By comparison, it can be concluded that the pensions related consumer education can be successful if the provided instruction and information have been available when individuals make important decisions about their future pension. The study aims to extend the retirement and old age-related literature and to raise the defects related to the current practices of consumer education.
