Abstract:This article provides tools for designers how they can design products that express a coherent message both in sensory information level and in mental pictures. The paper highlights the importance of hearing, seeing, touching, tasting and smelling impressions in the designing process. This multi-sensory design approach offers recommendations how to get sensory feedback during user-product interaction and how it can be used to obtain desired forms of sensory stimulation.
