Abstract:Concurrent verbalization effects on consumer choice are explored. The data were collected as a part of a larger study of memory factors in consumer choice.Subjects made an initial choice using external product information. Some concurrently verbalized this choice other didn't. Then they had more information on new brands and a new attribute for all brands. All subjects verbalized the second choice. The findings suggest that the verbalization manipulation may have changed the first choice.
