Abstract: | Based on interdisciplinary research, customer and technological (here as: tech-al.) competencies (hereafter as: cmpts.) are suggested to have a direct, unconditional effect on firms' innovative performance. This study extends this literature by considering the effect of organizational (here as: org-al.) cmpts. Results from a survey-research executed in the fast moving consumer goods industry suggest that firms crafting org-al. cmpts. do not directly improve their innovative performance. However, those firms successfully combining customer, tech-al. and org-al. cmpts. will create more innovations new to the market. |
