Abstract:The article investigates the possible long-term relationship between the intra-trade of each member of the GCC Customs Union and the Union's total trade with its outside partners. The existence of a relationship would indicate no significant changes in the relative magnitude of intra-trade between GCC partners. Quarterly data from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates during 1982-2005 are analyzed using unit root test of stationary, Engle-Granger test and Johansen-Juselius Co-integration method. The analysis suggests that intra-trade among the members of GCC converges with the total trade of GCC Customs Union in all the member countries except Oman.
