Abstract:This paper offers an in depth analysis of the application of various marketing management philosophies (hereafter as MMP) by tourism organizations in Turkey. The authors assess the internal and external factors that influence selection and use of MMP. Marketing practices of Western countries and their suitability for organizations in developing countries are also considered. The study combines qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze questionnaires and interviews. The findings reveal tendency toward product-oriented marketing.
