Abstract:Although long-term pay deals have become less popular recently because of the uncertainty over inflation, long-term inflation-linked agreements continue to be attractive to the employers and trade unions as well. This article shows the reasons behind this and looks into the problem of economic forecasts. It introduces the different types of forecasts and suggests ways personnel practitioners can make the most of them.
