| Abstract: | By adding the degree of difficulty into the conventional model of multicommodity minimum cost flow problem (MMCFP), a new problem, called the safety MMCFP, is formed. Instead of solving it directly, a transformation procedure is developed to transform this problem into an MMCFP. By this way, the solutions designed for solving the MMCFP can be used to solve the safety MMCFP.It is shown that an algorithm for the MMCFP can be used to solve polymatroidal MMCFP, so these two problems are polynomially equivalent. By modifying Algorithm SF-PO properly, it can be shown that other types of MMCFP were also polynomially equivalent to the MMCFP. |
