Abstract:Since the Japanese yen's appreciation in 1985, China has practiced an open policy of actively of actively participating in the international division of work. The total trade volume between both countries reached US$ 3.2 billion in 1988, US$ 6.37 billion in 1992, US$ 11.66 billion in 1994 and US$ 7.69 billion in 1995. The domestic political factor has played an important role to the trade volume. The trade structure between the two countries shows the complementary of both countries' economies. During the 5 years since South Korea made direct investment in China, the projects and the investment increased 118.6 times and 97.7 times respectively. It is estimated that the Sino- Korean economic exchange will maintain growth for 5 years or so.
