Abstract:Data security and information safety related issues are discussed. Systems that monitor computer programmers and users to detect unusual or unauthorized activities have been developed using artificial intelligence /AI/ methods. The usual method to AI for security profiles is to set predetermined profiles for information availability and to monitor variations from those profiles. The psychology of detection systems is discussed. Various differences exist between systems; some of them are presented briefly. The biggest group of security threats are those with authorized access, therefore authorization should be made with extreme care.
