Abstract: | This article investigates the main structural barriers or constraints to travel across the US-Mexico border to visit Mexican towns. The authors mainly focus on students at a significant university close to the border. Through factors analyses the study identified three primary types of perceived constraints raised by the international boundary, such as: personal safety, institutional and disinterest. By using the Pearson correlation tests the authors found that familiarity with the border and what is on the other side does not have a major impact on the barriers perceived by student travelers. |
