Abstract:The Dutch energy analysis program (EAP) is adapted for calculating the direct and indirect energy use of households in Stockholm, Sweden. In the EAP expenditures are combined with energy requirements per expended unit and the relationship btw. household spending patterns and the effects of these patterns is revealed. It is shown that the possible reduction levels in total household energy use are in the range of 10-20%. For further reductions internal and external local support systems will be required. Finally, the applicability and usability of Dutch model to Swedish context is discussed.
