Abstract:Here the author discovers that behind the sleek marketing and grandiose sales forces of a number of the faceless multinationals the family firm is still the driving force.Surprisingly, of about 400 of the largest and most important multinationals all over the world, some thirty are still family firms, described here as having succeeding generations of the founder on the board and/or a substantive part of the equity controlled by members of the founding family.
