Abstract: | The case of a medium-sized German family firm is described and analyzed. It has three divisions: vehicles, heating and air-conditioning equipment, different tools and instruments. It is shown how visionary management works in this company. The tools of the centralized control are reviewed. The strategy is based on a sound business policy and it plays an integrative role. Similarly, integrative tasks are assigned to the company's culture, organization, and controlling. Within this holistic framework a really decentralized leadership is established. In addition, an effective cooperation exists between the managers of the headquarter, the divisions and the subsidiary companies. |
