| Abstract: | Mobile data communications technology revolutionizes transportation industry. Burling Motor Carriers (BMC) has invested $10 million into this technology. Its system utilizes Geostar's satellite services, and the hardware is provided by Hughes Network Systems.The system enables the driver and driver manager to stay in constant contact. APC-based software package was developed to link customers into the BMC information network. The customer software and the network are called STARnet (Shipment Traffic Analysis Resources Network). |
