| Abstract: | Republican Representative Tom Lewis of Florida proposed amending the 1984 Commercial Space Launch Act to help states to establish launch sites for commercial space activities. The final legislation as it cleared Congress in late 1990 formally recognizes a greater role for states and private sector involvement in space commerce and development of space transportation infrastructure. |
