Abstract: | It is fuel and not the aging of electronic components that limits the satellite life. External influences such as gravity, tend to cause the satellite's orbit to become inclined with respect to the earth's equator. The savings in fuel, satellites, and rockets greatly outweigh the added expense of upgrading the earth stations tracking systems. |
