Abstract:On November 2, 1990, Murdoch's Sky TV and BSB merged with combined losses in excess of $1.5 billion. Since that time industry observers have been speculating about the merger's effect on the developing DBS business in the U.S. By using the British experience, American DBS providers can avoid making the same mistakes when formulating their own competitive strategy.
