Abstract:Experts agree that there are good prospects for separate international satellite systems. PanAmSat plans to operate three additional birds and Orion Satellite is to be launched in 1992. In the Pacific Ocean region Columbia Communications Corporation offers a C-band service. Telecommunications posts will be set up for regional service in Asia. Regulations for system providers and long-term finance should be secured.
