Abstract:Scientists are working on the new generation of satellite imaging techniques which could be used in environmental science, oil exploitation and cartography alike. The present systems are sensors responding to visible light, infrared or microwave spectral bands. They operate on the principle that different surfaces absorb radiation to different degrees.
