Abstract: | This study explores the relationships btw. consumer ethic beliefs and interdependent self-construal on purchasing counterfeit product (henceforth as: c-f-pds.) behaviours. Analyzed data were collected using questionnaires survey from consumers of Taiwan (here as: T.) and Mainland China (as: M-C.) It is found that T. consumers with strong active beliefs as to benefiting (as: s-a-b-b.) from a questionable action are inclined to purchasing c-f-pds. M-C. consumers with s-a-b-b. from illegal activity will not only purchase c-f-pds. for themselves but also encourage others to do so. Suggestions on how to suppress purchasing c-f-pds. behaviour are provided. |
