| Abstract: | Both European satellites, TV-Sat 1 and Telecom 1B struggle with difficulties. Bundespost, the main customer, started an investigation to clarify the cause of malfunction of TV-Sat. It is to be feared that the satellite will be lost or = at the very best - it can work with a limited power. As to Telecom, a short- circuit occurred in January and it became unstable in the space. These new technologies are rather expensive and still not reliable. French Telediffusion is ready to help with transmission of programmes. |
