Abstract:In the future the Third World countries seem to be the most significant satellite users. Since the world population is to increase to six billion by the turn of the century the health and educational services can be assured by tele-services only. Of course, there are many factors influencing the use of satellite-delivered services: the cost of the ground segment, types of service offerings, the existing communications infrastructure and the national politics.
