| Abstract: | DBS is likely to play a major role in European TV programming. There are 4 DBS projects in Europe: BSB, French TDF-1, SES the Societe Europeenne des Satellites, and the German TV-Sat.SES proposed medium-powered Astra satellite will need Eutelsat approval as the privately funded PanAmSat require coordination with Intelsat. Astra's main rival is likely to be British Satellite Broadcasting /BSB/ funded by 5 British companies. |
