Abstract:Hughes Aircraft Co. applied for export license for the Chinese Long March rocket. Reagan administration's tentative approval led to a lot of controversies. The opponents fear that predatory pricing by any foreign launcher will threaten private US launch vehicle companies. The U.S. ELV industry is of strategic importance.Final approval of export licenses needs an OK from NATO's Coordinating Committee on Multilateral Export Control.
