| Abstract: | In this article the authors assess whether the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) has been as cost-effective as promised to reduce greenhouse gas emissions within the targets set with the Kyoto protocol. The study also outlines the possible stages to enhance the functioning of the EU ETS and identifies the resulting managerial implications. |
