| Abstract: | The article presents the findings of a research conducted amongst members of the public in England concerning their understanding of sustainable tourism, their response to four desired tourism behavior goals, and expectations about the role of tourism industry and government in encouraging sustainable tourism. The findings reveal a lack of awareness of tourism's influence relative to day-to-day behavior, feelings of disempowerment and unwillingness to change current tourism behavior. |
