Abstract:Over 1300 cable TV systems are licensed by the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in Canada. The high viewing level is attributed to the very high number of channels available on most systems. Canadian cable industry is searching ways to perfect and enhance the diversity of its programming to attract more viewers. Competition may come from telephone companies.
