| Abstract: | Descriptive features (marginal sales and elasticities) are discussed for some better known forms of aggregate price response funtions. Moreover, a nonlinear piecewise price response function is introduced. Next behavior of profit- maxima and Nash-equilibria for the exponential, logistics and piecewise price response functions are shown. After a short review of the estimation methods used results of an empirical study based on scanner data of branded consumer non-durables are presented. |
