| Abstract: | The study presents a simple partial equilibrium model of consumer behavior that allows for the joint determination of a consumer's optimal consumption, portfolio, and time to retirement. In conclusion, it seems that the possibility of early retirement leads to portfolios more exposed to stock market risks. The model makes some intuitive predictions. For example, it predicts a decrease in risk aversion following strong market gains. |
