Abstract: | Finding people to manage the new types of network is a big problem. Companies that need telecom specialists have two options. They can either hire people away from other companies or they can build their own telecom teams. Both routes can be expensive. Not surprisingly, one of the fastest growing branches of telecom industry is the training sector. A substantial amount of money is being spent for training at 500 USD, two-days seminar. A company, which hires college graduates with degrees in electrical engineering, spends two years training them, using a combination of outside and vendor seminars plus in-house courses. The sum of investment varies between 80,000 and 100,000 USD in each person. The software helping network literacy is missing. |
